Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have unveiled their next generation of robotic fish, designed to mimic the movements of a tuna.
The fish's creators - mechanical engineers Kamal Youcef-Toumi and Pablo Valdivia Y Alvarado - are hoping the manoeuvrable underwater robots will be used to monitor submerged structures including oil and gas pipelines, as well as keep track of pollution levels in bodies of water.
